APPEARANCE
Seen first and only alongside Hound in Field and the Chief Walking Buffalo portrait, this painting of a red dog reclining in a snowy landscape bears resemblance only (in my research) to the works of Vaughan, a little-known contemporary and friend of Colville’s. And, from what I can see, a very kind and generous man. I said everything about this painting I had to say in the last section.
These two dog paintings hang directly across from two bird paintings.
