IDENTITY

I had a notion this could be Jackson Hole, but as of 2025 I’ve discovered it to be one of Bill C. Brown’s maps of Aspen, highlighting Aspen Mountain (Ajax), Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk/Tiehack and Snowmass by name.

The picture above still shows the Jackson Hole example. I’ll be updating the images in time.

SYMBOLIC SIGNIFICANCE

When Wendy is watching the news, she hears a story about a “missing Aspen woman” named “Susan Robertson” lost in “the mountains near Ouray”. It happens that soon after making this ID I was able to get a poster using a very similar photo of the mountains that appear in the COLORADO poster in secretary Susie’s office, showing them to be the San Juan Mountains that encircle Ouray. I don’t want to repeat myself, so head there for an exploration of the links between these motifs.

I was also able to identify a poster for Arapahoe Basin thanks to a search on Bill C. Brown’s other posters. It only appears with the twins, and as far as I can tell, these are the only Bill Brown posters in the room. And I haven’t been able to confirm what the “C” stood for, but if it was Charles, we would have a “Charlie Brown” here to complement the ones in Dan’s bedroom.
