Now, let’s get into the “Dead” half. Same rules apply. Cue the album to start at the very centre second of the mirrorform: 70:45. Though I did a little tweaking this time for where the tracks start and end (never more than a second, I don’t think) to try to maximize the synchrony. It didn’t change much, so if you get slightly different results from watching your version, just know I’m getting my results from looking for these synch opportunities.
This was when I really got into using the Twice-Folded Shining for my analysis, which helped me realize one cool thing: because The Rum and the Red goes past the midpoint of the mirrorform, when you apply this to the Twice-Fold, there’s a moment of convergence for all four layers, so that you’re only seeing the two mirrorform layers for a split second, and that will look like this:

And that’s the moment of the first second before Jack is seen in the giant Suite 3 mirror sleeping. We’d be going through the looking glass’s looking glass…
