I don’t have much to say about this, but there are 4 photos that connect the Gold Room to the rest of the hotel, and they’re only seen once, during Danny’s 3rd lesson, on the gallery overlooking Jack’s writing table.
If we take the F21 approach to these, then the values for the lounge ones are 4-6-8-10, and the values for the Gold Room’s are 15-24-25-26. All totalled, these would come to 118, which happens to be the value of F21s that Wendy passes in the final sequence of F21s in the film: at the skeleton ball. And maybe that’s all that these are meant to do, to draw a connection between the ghost ball and the skeleton ball. And they’re not far from where the other ghost ball rolls up to Danny to invite him into 237.
118 is also almost half of 237. Add 118 and 119 and you get 237. But there’s no major 119 total that I can see anywhere (other than Hallorann’s pantry total, as we, coincidentally(?), just covered).
I’ve also wondered–since there’s a piece of dog, rabbit, deer, and goose art within eyesight of these photos–if this is another attempt at a Four Directions wheel. And perhaps the random disorganization of the photos from area to area says something about the way the hotel distorts its own Four Directions. Or something like that. But honestly I don’t know.
