  • The following track, Seasons, which is a brief, melancholy rendition of the opening of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons: Spring, starts hilariously on the establishing shot of the post-closure Overlook, giving the appearance of the hotel a real sarcastic pomp, which leads into Wendy bringing breakfast, Danny doing his lap around the lounge, and ending as Wendy enters with the breakfast tray.
  • The mirror action is half of the chase between Wendy and Jack in the lounge, going from the end of Danny’s bloodfall vision, to Jack screaming his three “Have you ever thought about my responsibilities!?” renditions. In other words, it crosses the bulk of Jack’s rhetorical repetitions of Wendy’s statements.

  • It’s apt, perhaps, that this track completely contains Danny’s first lesson, since he has four of them, and the track is about the first season, spring. Or at least, it’s the first season in Vivaldi’s series. But more interesting is how Danny trikes past the “summer” photo from outside Ullman’s office here. This photo is repeated on the CAMERA WALK board that’s overlaying with Jack’s stinkface here. And this song marks the jump from October 30th to November 30th, while December 13th rages on in the reverse. All autumn days. Funnily enough, the only reference to winter in the film (that I know of), other than verbal allusions, is in the title of the painting Paysage d’hiver (Winter Landscape), and it’s in another language.
